Personal Play: Encouraging Down

This video shows how I encourage dogs to lay down while I’m engaging in personal play with them. This is one of the foundation skills I teach every dog before I start social play with other dogs. That way, I’m able to moderate play and encourage this “self-handicapping” behavior in order to bring the arousal levels down as needed, which is especially important in play with size discrepancy!
